Recruitment/Relocation incentive may be authorized to a highly qualified candidate. The Vascular Surgeon is assigned to the Memphis VA Medical Center, VISN 9, under the direct supervision of the Section Chief of Vascular Surgery and the Chief, Department of Surgery. The successful applicant will provide comprehensive, compassionate, efficient healthcare to our Veterans, functioning within a multidisciplinary, team-based environment. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be February 26, 2021. Eligible applications received after that date will be continuously referred until position is filled. NOTE: Announcement will remain open until no longer needed but no later than September 30, 2021. We are privileged to be affiliated with the Vascular Surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Eligibility for a faculty appointment is strongly desired in order to perform resident supervision. Research opportunities are also available. Duties include, but are not limited to: Provision of direct patient-centered care for inpatient and outpatient, both in the clinic and Emergency Department settings Participation in the call schedule Proficiency in the complete spectrum of open surgical and endovascular procedures Proficiency in the interpretation of vascular ultrasound Demonstrated ability to professionally participate and direct team-based, multidisciplinary patient care, working with vascular surgery fellows, medical and surgery residents, mid-level providers, nursing, ultrasound technologists, etc., ensuring the best outcomes Participation on committees as requested by the Chief of Surgery Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00 a.m.to 4:30 p.m.) or as agreed upon with the possibility of extended hours.
