Surgical Associates of Monterey Bay (SAMB), in partnership with Dignity Health, is seeking a Vascular / General Surgeon to join a busy independent surgery group in gorgeous Santa Cruz, California. There is an opportunity for a vascular / general surgeon to build a practice with support from existing surgeons. There are currently no formal vascular surgeons in the county. We are seeking a candidate with a collegial demeanor, collaborative spirit, vascular and general surgery experience, and interest in practicing in an environment that offers autonomy, robust earning potential, and a flexible schedule promoting work-life balance. Community Based Recruitment Surgical Associates of Monterey Bay is a private practice group of four board-certified general surgeons and one physician assistant. The practice has been providing broad-spectrum general surgery care to the families of Santa Cruz and its surrounding counties for 25 years. SAMB coordinates care with physicians of Dignity Health Medical Foundation and operates at Dominican Hospital Santa Cruz and the outpatient Santa Cruz Surgery Center. The group also provides general surgery care to the community of Watsonville. The group currently has four surgeons that practice all aspects of general surgery. Case type includes hernias, gallbladders, colon, Nissen/paraesophageal, VATS, AV fistulas, hemodialysis access, colonoscopy, hemorrhoids/anorectal, breast, thyroid/parathyroid, melanoma, single site laparoscopic, DaVinci robotics, etc. SAMB also provides full-spectrum lower extremity varicose vein care as the Vein Clinic of Monterey Bay.
