The Lebanon VAMC is currently recruiting for part-time/intermittent physicians to provide coverage on an as needed basis. The ED physician is responsible for the provision of emergent and urgent care to Medical, Surgical and Behavioral Health patients. The annual workload is approximately 12,000 patients per year with a 20% admission rate. We do not see Pediatric or Major trauma patients. Lebanon VA Medical Center main campus is located in South Lebanon Township, 3 miles outside the city of Lebanon and approximately 30 miles east of Harrisburg, and 30 minutes from the cities of Hershey, Reading, Lancaster, and York. Services provided at the facility include: acute medical, surgical, diagnostic radiology, behavioral health, substance abuse, hospice, pain management, visual impairment and long-term inpatient care. Our outpatient services include: primary care, specialty care, social work services and psychiatric rehabilitation services. Other services provided through the facility include a full range of home and caregiver services including: telehealth, home-based primary care, skilled home care, adult day health care, peer support for caregivers, home health aide programs, homemaker home health care, respite care, community residential care, home hospice care and homeless Veteran care. Responsibilities As an Emergency Physician, your duties include but are not limited to: Provide evaluation and treatment consistent with hospital policy to ill and injured patients presenting to the Emergency Department Refer to specialty care when a higher level of evaluation and care is needed Document details of the patient visit in EDIS (Emergency Department Integrated Software) and clinical evaluation and treatment of the patient in the patient record (Computerized Patient Record System). Disposition patients (discharge home, refer to specialty clinic, admission) in a timely and organized manner Demonstrate flexibility in working a rotating schedule which may include 12 hour shifts on weekdays, nights, weekends, and occasionally holidays. Maintain appropriate training, skills, and credentials to include Medical License, Board Certification, BLS, ACLS, minor procedures, airway management, and other training as required by the VA Supervise Advanced Practice providers (PA/NP) who provide patient care in the Emergency Department Participate in administrative duties including peer review, hospital committees, performance improvement and other duties as assigned Promote continuity of care through communication (face to face, telephone, patient record) with other healthcare providers as appropriate Provide outstanding customer service, maintaining professional behavior and attitude at all times. Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel (for physicians and dentists) in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy. The range listed in this ad is based on a full time salary and will be prorated for hours worked. Work Schedule: Part Time Intermittent - Clinical schedule will be determined by the needs of the ED and at the discretion of the Chief, Emergency Medicine. Schedule may include night, holiday and weekend coverage. Salary: Please note annual salary listed is based on Full Time employment, pay will be prorated based on hours worked.
