I am looking for an associate to join my independent Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial surgery practice. I have been in practice for nearly 24 years and started the Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic surgery program in Boise, Idaho. I organized the Idaho Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Institute (The only ACPA approved cleft lip and palate team in Idaho). www.idahocleftandcraniofacial.org.

I would like to focus all of my attention on my microtia work and transfer the entire pediatric and craniofacial as well as adult cosmetic work to an associate who shares similar goals.  

I am interested in sharing my fund of knowledge and expertise with a new associate as well as learning from them.

I believe in always doing the right thing and providing the very best care for my patients. I perform each operation as perfectly as possible. Revisions are extremely rare in my practice. 80% of my professional time is Pediatric and Craniofacial  and 20% of it is adult cosmetic.

I own my own AAAASF certified outpatient surgical facility. Most of my cosmetic practice is high-end adult facial rejuvenation with some mommy makeover work.

Boise is an incredible place to live and is the capital of Idaho which was listed in the latest census as the second fastest growing state in the country.  My geographic pull for cleft and craniofacial is a radius of about 200 miles which incorporates a population exceeding 1 million.  Families are larger in this part of the country so the birth rate is higher.

About Dr. Griffiths

Russell Griffiths, MD is a pediatric plastic surgeon specializing in care for children born with cleft lip, cleft palate, microtia, Pierre Robin Sequence, hemifacial microsomia, or other craniofacial abnormalities. His goal is obtaining the very best outcome with the fewest number of surgeries. He is passionate about helping children and families, and recognizes the importance of focusing on all aspects of care, from the initial consultation through the surgery and recovery process.

Dr. Griffiths firmly believes in fixing things correctly the first time. His extensive experience allows him to deliver excellent results, often attracting parents and children from neighboring states. The majority of his cleft patients have only one cleft lip repair, and one palatoplasty, (which is less than half the number of operations compared to results from other surgeons nationwide). In addition, he is able to correct other craniofacial abnormalities, including craniosynostosis, in one surgery more than 95% of the time. 

Dr. Griffiths has also pioneered a new microtia reconstructive technique where the entire external ear and ear canal (including ear drum) can be reconstructed during the same surgery. Because of his expertise and focus on fewer surgeries, Dr. Griffiths frequently works with patients and families who travel to Idaho from all across the country for microtia care.

Dr. Griffiths is originally from Salt Lake City and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah. His postgraduate residency involved both a preliminary focus on general surgery and a full plastic surgery residency, and was followed by fellowship training in pediatric plastic surgery and craniofacial surgery at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He is the founder of the Idaho Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Institute. He is also a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

In his free time, Dr. Griffiths is a competitive endurance cyclist. He also enjoys fly fishing and restoring 1960s european cars.
