The Department of Emergency Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants to join our full-time faculty in the next academic year.  The position will be based at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, associated with Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (RRMC) and Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center (SMMC).  RRMC is an academic medical center on the main UCLA campus in Westwood, 520 bed, level 1 trauma and comprehensive stroke center with 52,000 annual ED visits.  SMMC is an academic-affiliated community hospital with 50,000 annual ED visits.  All faculty share responsibilities for patient care and teaching our residents and UCLA medical students.  Founded in 1978, our four-year EM residency program has 15 residents per year.  We offer fellowships in research, ultrasound, administration, health equity, and medical education.  UCLA Health is ranked #1 in California and #3 nationally by U.S. News & World Report, and has appeared in the honor roll for over 30 consecutive years.

Academic Faculty:
We seek multiple faculty members in the Health Sciences series provide to patient care, supervise, teach, and evaluate residents and medical students in the UCLA (RRMC and SMMC) Emergency Departments.  Preference will be given to those with additional expertise in Toxicology, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Medical Education, or Critical Care.

Associate Medical Director:
Associate Medical Directors at both RRMC and SMMC assist in all aspects of ED operations, and collaborate with other departments.  Faculty will be supported by protected administrative time and mentorship, and will be involved in hospital committees and department finance. 

Research Faculty:
We offer several faculty positions at all academic ranks for physician scientists in Health Services Research, as well as Clinical Trials in Emergency and Critical Care.  UCLA is one of the top research universities, ranking second in NIH funding among all academic medical centers, and is the number one public university in the nation.  Research efforts are aided by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), Computing Technologies Research Lab, Biostatistics Core, National Clinician Scholars Program (NCSP), and the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.  Research faculty will be supported by significant protected time, research staff, and mentorship.  There are opportunities for external funding, meaningful participation in national networks (SIREN, PETAL, EMERGEncy ID NET), and working with researchers and fellows across disciplines.

The Department is seeking candidates with a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, staff, and trainees. We encourage applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and improving access to higher education for disadvantaged students through teaching and mentoring.

We seek candidates at any Professorial level.  Fellowship training and/or advanced degree preferred.  Candidates must be Emergency Medicine residency trained, ABEM certified, eligible for California medical licensure, and qualified for faculty appointment in the UCLA School of Medicine.
