The Department of Surgery, Division of Acute Care Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks an outstanding early to mid-career academic Acute Care Surgeon to join our thriving practice. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and one of the premier academic medical centers in the United States. Northwestern Medicine is among only 4 academic medical centers in the country where both the University and the hospital are both ranked in the top 10 by the US News and World report. This is an exciting opportunity to join a clinically busy team that is also one of the top research-funded Acute Care Surgery divisions in the country.
The position is on the Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Primary responsibilities include care of surgical patients on the Trauma/Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care services, education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and independent research. The Division is recognized for innovative excellence in education. Administrative and educational leadership opportunities exist for qualified candidates. There is protected time for research, commensurate with supported activity.
Qualified candidates will be board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled. Compensation is competitive and linked to experience, and includes excellent healthcare and retirement benefits.
