The Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute, part of Memorial Healthcare System located in South Florida, is seeking a Board Certified vascular surgeon to lead its established group of vascular surgeons as the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. All candidates should have strong clinical skills, published in vascular and endovascular surgery and demonstrated proficiency with the latest vascular, endovascular surgical techniques, experience in the treatment of acute aortic dissection and repair of thoracoabdominal aneurysms. Candidate experience in Resident training and Graduate Medical Education is required. Demonstrated leadership experience is also required.
This is a full-time employed position with the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Division, part of the Memorial Physician Group. Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute (MCVI) is a leader in cardiovascular care, providing primary care, clinical research and surgery/transplant services that are patient-focused, safe, compassionate, comprehensive and coordinated. MCVI’s highly skilled team includes clinical and interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, interventional radiologists and neurointerventional radiologists, cardiac and vascular surgeons, thoracic surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, pediatric interventional cardiologists and pediatric cardiac surgeons. Memorial Regional Hospital, a level-one trauma center, is an approved comprehensive stroke center and has robust cardiology and cardiovascular surgery service delivery.
The Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Division has regional programs for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms and limb salvage. In addition they have the first Transcarotid artery stenting program in Broward County. There is also a strong program in complex aortic pathology and work closely with the cardiac surgery, cardiology, heart transplant and Neurointerventional teams. Dialysis access is also a strong component of the practice.
In addition to a large general cardiology practice, the MCVI includes all relevant subspecialties including electrophysiology, preventative and interventional cardiology, vascular, congenital heart disease, imaging and genetics. The cardiothoracic surgical program has also earned and maintained the distinguished three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, a 232-bed freestanding facility and part of the Memorial Healthcare System, has an established and highly recognized pediatric heart transplant program. The MCVI performed the first adult heart transplant in Broward county and has an active VAD and Adult Heart Transplant program since 2014. Memorial has the first accredited adult congenital heart program in the State of Florida and is the only ELSO Gold designated ECMO program in South Florida.
